Our Story
How did it all begin?
DragSwap started the way most good ideas do: out of frustration. As a drag performer and founder of ShowcaseDrag, I was tired of spending thousands on looks that had nowhere to go after their moment in the spotlight. Selling through Facebook groups was messy. eBay did not get drag. Depop was not built for it. So I built something that was. DragSwap launched out of a simple belief: the drag community deserves its own space to buy, sell, and swap looks with each other, safely and easily.
What is our mission?
Our mission is to make drag more accessible for everyone. Whether you are a working performer looking to recoup the cost of a retired look, or a new artist building their first wardrobe on a tight budget, DragSwap exists to connect you with the community and the pieces you need. Every sale on DragSwap keeps money inside the drag community, where it belongs. We are not a faceless corporation. We are performers, fans, and supporters who want to see this art form thrive at every level.
Who is DragSwap for?
DragSwap is for drag performers at every stage: the seasoned artist with a closet full of retired looks, the newcomer putting together their first look, the hobbyist who wants something special, and the fan who wants a piece of the magic. If drag is part of your world in any way, you are welcome here. Slay today, sell tomorrow.
Marketplace Platform Comparison
If you are a drag artist looking to sell your retired looks, you have options. But not all platforms are created equal when it comes to fees, community, and how much money actually ends up in your pocket. We compared three platforms on a $200 sale with $100 in item and shipping costs.
DragSwap: 10% fee You keep $180 of your $200 sale. After your $100 cost, you walk away with $80 in profit.
Etsy: ~12% in combined fees You keep roughly $176. After costs, that is $76 in profit. Etsy also charges a $0.20 listing fee per item and can take an additional 15% through their offsite ads program if your shop hits certain thresholds.
Poshmark: 20% fee You keep $160. After costs, that is $60 in profit.
The bottom line On a single $200 sale, DragSwap puts $20 more in your pocket than Poshmark and $4 more than Etsy. Multiply that across every look you sell and the difference adds up fast.
Beyond the numbers, DragSwap is the only platform built exclusively for the drag community. Your listings are seen by buyers who actually want what you are selling, not buried among millions of general resale items.
